About The Rainbow Room

100_2533_0.jpgThe Rainbow Room was founded on 1st September 2004 by Jane Frick. This was after observing her sister, Mandi, go through a traumatic time with her daughter Alysha, who had undergone major surgery for a rare genetic condition called Cleidocranial Dysplasia.

There are only 500 recorded cases of Cleidocranial Dysplasia worldwide, and an unknown number of cases in Australia. For many years Mandi has been coping with the isolation that is associated with a child who has a rare condition.

Jane had a vision to help others, and consequently the Rainbow Room opened in the hope of extending assistance to families who felt isolation in coping with children who are suffering from rare disorders, disabilities, chronic illnesses; mums with Post-Natal Depression, and those with special needs, such as cancer, depression and Illnesses.

With the support of ShoreCare, Jane and her team of dedicated volunteers aim to offer services that will provide comfort to families and carers during their path of isolation and frustration.
